THE BIGGEST PLUS ABOUT BEING A BHS 1972 CLASSMATE:

I got to grow up and live in the most wonderful place in the world—Southern California in the USA
I got to be a part of a class with the best looking, smartest men and women ever assembled at BHS
I got to go to school in a place that wasn’t North Dakota, Maine, Alabama, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Kansas, Arkansas, Oregon, Louisiana, DC, South Carolina, etc.
I got to hear and see live some of the greatest music ever written and performed and got to see the evolution of recorded music from vinyl records, reel to reel, 4-track, 8-track, cassettes, CDs, MP3s, downloads, to the cloud.
I knew that graduation from Bellflower High School would allow me to write my ticket for full happiness thereafter, having a leg up on all other high school graduates across this nation.
  I didn’t have to be in the BHS Class of 1969, 1970, 1971, 1973, 1974, 1975…

Welcome BHS '72 Classmates!

Welcome to the Bellflower High Class Of 1972 web site! We are glad you have "come home" after all these years. We loved seeing so many of you at our 50-year reunion in August 2022. We now look forward to an scaled-down, but nonetheless epic 55-year BHS '72 Class Reunion on August 21 ish, 2027!

Please explore and enjoy this website dedicated to all of our classmates--those still with us and the many that are no longer with us.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Here Comes a BHS '72 Class Picnic        Nov. 3, 2023!!

Dear BHS 1972 Classmates--For those of you who either missed the 50-year reunion, or who came to the reunion (that should cover all you classmates), we have a between-the-reunions opportunity to bring your families and have a nice, easygoing time to catch up and relax at our class picnic on November 3, 2023, at Caruthers Park at 10500 Flora Vista Street in Bellflower.

It is a bit of a self-service event, with each person/family to bring your own lunch, drinks (no alcohol), a blanket and/or chairs. Though on a much smaller scale than our reunion events, this picnic promises to be an epic get together and catch up fun event. Let's shoot for noon and stay as late as you wish. Please look for the signs at the park that point to the BHS '72 group picnic area.

We so look forward to seeing you there. You don't want to miss this wonderful, but very casual get together.

All our best, the big chiefs, Mara, Kerry and Barb. Bellflower Buccaneers | MascotDB.com

Time Left Until 55-Year BHS '72 Reunion

Our Epic 50-Year BHS '72 Reunion Is Now in the Books!!

Our BHS '72 50-Year Reunion was held over 2 days--Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27 in 2022. We had two official events for all classmates:

** The first event was a casual mingle / get-together on Friday night, August 26, 2022, from 6pm to 11pm at the Spanish-style, two-story Recreation Park clubhouse in Long Beach, CA, at 5001 Deukmejian Drive. There were awesome hors 'd ouerves and beverages, live music (2 live bands as background music) and lots of warm greetings and fun.

** The second event was an even nicer dinner, program, silent auction and dance (with an amazing 5-piece dance band) on Saturday night, August 27, 2022, also from 6pm to 11pm, at The Mayne Events Center in Bellflower, CA, at 16400 Bellflower Blvd., just south of the railroad tracks on Bellflower Blvd. It is a great 2-story banquet and meeting space with an attached Los Angeles County Fire Museum with vintage fire trucks on display. The Mayne Events Center has been the chosen venue of the BHS classes of 1969, 1979 and 1971 for their 50-Year reunions as well.

We held a 3rd optional 9-hole golf event for 25 classmates on Friday afternoon August 26, 2022, and also had some practice swings at 11am, a Noon lunch and tee times set after the lunch. This is a fun event we first held at our 40-year reunion and was back by popular demand for our 50-year reunion. This event was fedor those classmates who want to play some golf or those who have always wanted to try golf in the easiest way to ever do so -- a best ball scramble format. We all had a great time whether one golfed well or not.

Some say our 50th was our last reunion--and it was the last of its kind, and it was epic. as promised. The pent up energy we all had to get out and celebrate and reacquaint with each other was added excitement for sure. We had/have a most special class and we we had  a most special reunion. We hope to see every one of you at a possible, scaled down 55-Year Reunion, as you are a huge part of the BHS Class of 1972 and will be warmly welcomed by all in attendance.

Thanks so much on behalf of our big cheeses--Mara, Kerry and Barb.
