I will remember Duane as a big lovable guy with a huge heart and a very decent person who ought to be with us still. I am not aware of any cause of death or when he went. Anyone have more details?
What a sweet man. I visited him twice at his home in Bodfish ( Lake Isabella ) years ago. He was truly a mountain man. The world was better with him. Tony Pardee
I loved Duane. When I too visited him at his place in Bodfish it was always a good and interesting time. One 'happy' time while we watched a foot ball game we fed chunks of steak to his pet Piranha in an enormous fish tank. One other time he showed me some very effective hunting techniques in the dark that were sure to keep you stocked with venison. Duane knew how to live. I loved that about him.
Duane was a good guy. We locked horns some during high school, but got to be good friends in the few years after graduation. Duane was very interested in the outdoors, but he also had a liking for good music. Which ever one of us scored the latest album, we would call the other, then track down Mike Roberts and go hang at his place and listen to it. Duane was also a guy that liked to laugh alot, and we did. It was a shock to see he had passed. I hope he found peace.
